FireKing Baking Company

FireKing Baking Company originally started in 2002 as a retail operation to provide baked goods to restaurants, including those owned in part by Gregory Acerra. The original location was a small facility retrofitted from a former gas station located across the street from Tosca Restaurant. The demand for the quality products provided required the business to pivot to wholesale operations and leased 10,000 s.f. of space in Weymouth. In 2012 the business relocated to 40,250 s.f. of space in Braintree and subsequently purchased this building. Demand for quality baked goods continued and in 2018 the business again relocated to approximately 190,000 s.f. of leased space. The business currently has approximately 125 full-time employees and hires an additional 100 through temp agencies.
FireKing Baking Company has utilized GSDC for SBA 504 program to finance the Braintree moves in 2012 and 2018 and an additional equipment purchase in 2022. The business has been awarded the SBA MA Manufacturer of the year in 2016 and was SBA MA Small Business of the year in 2022, coming in 2nd Nationally!
